Already in February of this year Samsung announced the Galaxy S20 series and its second foldable smartphone called Galaxy Z Flip. The new foldable model has a clamshell-like construction. Therefore, we have a device that looks more like a traditional smartphone when opened. This is not the case with the Galaxy Fold, which basically becomes a tablet when unfolded. The Galaxy Z Flip has many color options such as Mirror Black, Mirror Gold and Mirror Purple. In addition, a limited edition Thom Browne Limited came later. A new report now indicates that the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5G variant of the foldable will include a new brown color.
The information comes from sources who are very familiar with the matter. According to the report, the new handset will contain this brown color, but the marketing name is currently unknown. We believe that Mirror Brown makes no sense at all. Rumor has it that the new Galaxy Z Flip with 5G connectivity will be officially available in August along with the Galaxy Fold 2 and Note 20 series.
The original phone came with the Snapdragon 855+ SoC. Now it remains to be seen whether Samsung will keep this chipset or upgrade to a newer Snapdragon 865. None of these chipsets has an integrated 5G modem. For this reason, 5G connectivity is provided by an independent modem.
