Video streaming services such as Netflix, YouTube and Amazon had to reduce their bit rates in several European countries in March to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. This measure was taken to reduce the burden on ISPs and to manage millions of users to consume tons of content during the ban. However, it appears that streaming services are returning to their normal HD quality in some European countries.
According to FlatpanelsHD, Netflix offers its customers normal HD quality in several European countries. Users from Denmark, Norway, Germany and other countries have posted on forums that their streaming quality has been restored. A Netflix spokesman said:
"Please note that we are working with ISPs to increase capacity. Last month alone, we added four times the normal capacity. If the conditions improve, we will remove these restrictions. “
Now we have to wait for other companies to do what they did as the world slowly returns to normal.
