On May 17, 2020, China Unicom and ZTE signed a joint 6G agreement on strategic cooperation on the 51st World Telecommunications Day. In accordance with the content of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement, the two parties will provide complete information about their respective innovation benefits in the 6G area. They will jointly explore the 6G vision and technology trends, explore the potential key technologies of the 6G system, and implement technological innovations and standards collaboration, taking into account China Unicom's network and terms and conditions.
China Unicom and ZTE will further strengthen cooperative research on innovative 6G technologies. On the one hand, the two parties will work together on 6G technology innovations and standard funding. On the other hand, they will also actively promote the deep integration of 6G into satellite networks, the Internet of Things, the Internet of Vehicles and the industrial Internet in order to achieve the expansion of operator services and services.
ZTE explained this In 2030, the two parties will conduct research on high-potential 6G key technologies, including airspace integration technology, terahertz communication technology and visible light communication technology, in 2030. They will also run some tests to ensure that the technology is viable.
In addition, their 6G network performance goals include a maximum data rate of 1 Tbit / s, a user data rate of 20 Gbit / s and a service capacity of 100 Gbit / s / m3. Between 2020 and 2023, the research window will be for 6G network requirements, structure and activation technologies.
