Realme celebrated its second birthday this month and tomorrow one of its most important events will take place in the last business. The fastest growing smartphone brand in the world will offer not one, but two events on the same day at two different locations – China and India. In addition, the company will host a smaller event on May 26, this time for Europe. You can now understand how important this event is.
Why is May 25th one of the most exciting events for Realme fans and general technology enthusiasts? According to recent teasers, the company will launch eight new devices on the same day, including smartphones, wearables and household products. So let's dive straight into our predictions about tomorrow's event.
Realme has made a name for itself thanks to its extensive list of smartphones with excellent technical data and an affordable price. Tomorrow, the company will take an important step to further establish its name as a smartphone manufacturer. The company will release at least three new devices called Realme X3, Realme X3 SuperZoom and Realme X50 Pro Player.
Realme X50 Pro Player
The first device is a new, game-focused version of the company's current flagship, the Realme X50 Pro. In addition to the camera setup, the new handset will essentially contain the same specifications as the standard version. These include the excellent Snapdragon 865 SoC, LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 memory. These specifications are based on a 6.44-inch FHD + AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a fingerprint scanner under glass. The handset even features X50 Pro's traditional pill-shaped hole for dual selfie snappers.
The camera setup is less impressive. We have a 48MP camera that is paired with an 8MP Ultrawide unit, a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor. Android 10 runs on the handset with RealmeUI and draws electricity from a 4,200 mAh battery. It comes with a whopping 65W SuperDart Flash Charge. Realme teases a new cooling solution that includes graphics sheets and steam chambers. The handset also has stereo speakers.
Realme X3 and X3 SuperZoom
The Realme X3 SuperZoom is a pretty interesting device. X2 Pro from last year will be successful when upgrading the camera setup. For this reason, we have a Snapdragon 855+ SoC that runs the show. In addition, the handset will have a telemodule, which offers up to 5x optical zoom with a periscope lens, offering on its current flagship. However, this panel is chargeable and will be of the LCD variant. For this reason we have a fingerprint scanner on the side. The device is said to have a 4,200 mAh battery with 30 W quick charge.
While there are few details for the Realme X3 5G, we know that it will be equipped with the Snapdragon 765G chip. In addition, there will be a less advanced camera setup without a periscope lens.
The company will also launch its first synchronized Smartwatch Realme Watch. It comes in a 1.4-inch form factor and has a similar ODM design to the Amazfit Bip S. Among the main selling points, we have a heart rate and SpO2 monitors. These functions are really important and can even be helpful with the COVID-19 crisis. The company will ship its smartwatch with a custom operating system platform that offers full integration with Realme smartphones.
Buds Air Neo, Buds Q and Buds Wireless Pro
Realme Buds Air is currently quite successful. The company's TWS department has successfully passed the milestone of 1 million shipments. These numbers are expected to increase with the introduction of new headsets. The first on the list is the Realme Buds Air Neo. The new hearing aids will be a cheaper, less advanced version of the original Buds Air. For this reason, they lack some functions such as the wireless charging case and the ENC (Environmental Noise Canceling) function.
The Buds Q appears to be the company's premium TWS offering for the May 25 event. Although the features are not yet known, they were designed by French artist Jose Levy.
Last but not least, the company will upgrade its portfolio of neckband headsets with the new Buds Wireless Pro. Unfortunately, the functions associated with it are still unclear. However, it comes with an integrated USB-C port.
The company will take an important step tomorrow with the launch of its first smart TVs. The new TVs offer enhanced picture features, but are offered at affordable prices. Realme will pursue the successful strategy it followed with smartphones. We expect at least two TV variants – one with 32 inches and one with 43 inches.
The TVs will work with QLED panels, Chroma Boost Engine, 400 Nits brightness, 24 W Quad speakers and a 64- Bit quad-core MediaTek chipset. They are reported to be running Android TV.
It remains to be answered which products are available for India and Europe. In India at least the new TV and smartwatch have been confirmed. In Europe only the Realme X3 SuperZoom and possibly the X3 are confirmed. These important details will be announced tomorrow. So stay tuned for full coverage of the event.
