Redmi 10X

The Redmi 10X is supplied with the same AMOLED display as the Mi 10 Youth

In the next few hours, Xiaomi's Redmi will hold an online event in China that will showcase the Redmi 10X, 10X 5G, and 10X Pro 5G. While the first device represents a renaming of the global Note 9, the other two devices are completely new devices with MediaTek's Dimensity 820 SoC and AMOLED panels. According to a recent report by the so-called Digital Chat Station Weibo Leakster, the phone will use the same Samsung E2 AMOLED panel as the Mi 10 Youth 5G.

This panel will have a 6.57-inch diagonal with FHD + resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels). In addition, there is no fancy solution like a hole for the selfie camera. Instead, we have the good and old water drop notch that the selfie snapper is in. Other important aspects of this display are the support of HDR10 + and a maximum brightness of 600 nits. It's a great display, especially when the device is rumored to be available at an affordable price.

Thanks to the use of an AMOLED display, Redmi confirmed the presence of AlwaysOnDisplay mode, which has a lot of adjustments in MIUI 12. The device also comes with the recently released Super Wallpaper function. In addition, the type of this display enables the company to install a built-in fingerprint scanner.

Additional specifications include up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, as well as dual SIM with dual 5G support. The dual SIM compartment is a hybrid compartment with which the user can choose between dual SIM functionality or single SIM + microSD card for memory expansion. The smartphone comes with a quad camera array that has been reported to include OIS and 30x zoom.

As previously mentioned, the smartphone will be the first in the industry to have a MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC. Aside from its 5G capabilities, the chipset offers a lot of performance that breaks the 400,000+ barrier in AnTuTu.
