Apple introduced a new battery management feature for MacBooks last month that optimizes the charging behavior of MacBooks to extend battery life. Well, with the macOS Catalina 10.15.5 update, which also includes a new tool to disable automatic highlighting in Group FaceTime calls and controls to calibrate the Pro Display XDR, the launch started.
According to the patch notes, the battery life management tool helps maximize the battery life of Mac notebooks by slowing down the process of chemical aging. However, this function can be deactivated. A further change is that the battery status of the machine is now displayed in the "Energy-saving mode" setting area and it is indicated whether maintenance is required.
In addition to bug fixes and performance improvements, macOS Catalina 10.15.5 offers a new option that FaceTime users can use to prevent the speaker tile from automatically resizing and gaining in importance. In addition, Pro Display XDR users can now adjust white point and luminance to optimize the built-in calibration.
