Instagram has introduced new tools that its developers can use to make money from the videos they publish. Not only will it launch ads in its IGTV video product, it will also have some of the developers 'badges' sold to their fans while they broadcast live videos.
For IGTV ads, 55 percent of sales go to the creators of the videos for which those ads are shown. The video ads are created for mobile phones and are up to 15 seconds long. For the early launch of the new feature, Instagram selected participants such as Avani Gregg, Eitan Bernath and Salice Rose, aspiring stars who built a large part of their followers on the social video phenomenon TikTok.
Fans who buy them will get the badges. Stand out in the comments and unlock additional features, including placement on a creator's list of badge holders and access to a special heart. Badges will be tested next month with a small group of developers and companies. It will soon expand to the United States, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Spain and Mexico.
