No microSD card slot, 60 Hz flat screen

No microSD card slot, 60 Hz flat screen

Samsung is preparing to launch new Galaxy devices on August 5. However, nothing can prevent the Galaxy Note 20 series from expiring before this date. If you liked our full walkthrough specifications for the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, you'll be glad to know that the Vanilla Note 20 also leaked. Courtesy of the same source from WinFuture.de

Galaxy Note 20 leaked specs

The Vanilla model is far from impressive, after all it has a flat screen, as previously rumored, and unfortunately this is a standard display with one Refresh rate of 60 Hz. This cheap variant will be available in both 4G and 5G versions. To be honest, it doesn't make sense to get a flagship phone that only offers 4G these days, after all, it's far from future-proof. Nevertheless, Samsung wants to save some money in countries where 5G networks are not a reality. Regardless of the variant, you get a 6.7-inch display with a 2,400 x 1,080 display. It's a super AMOLED panel, but you only have a standard refresh rate of 60 Hz. This is an important step down from Note 20. The most fascinating thing about this leak is that Note 20 appears to have a metal frame but a black plastic Has! This is no longer acceptable for a device that is said to cost a lot!

Perhaps Samsung will position this device as a much cheaper device. But don't hold your breath, we don't think it's affordable enough to dethrone flagship killers. The handset also has an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the display and the Exynos 990 SoC. This chipset is the same one that powers the S20 family in Europe. The handset is coupled with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB non-expandable memory. Yes that's right. The affordable Note 20 will make the microSD card slot unnecessary. This will surely provoke an enormous backlash from customers. With the release of the Galaxy S6 and Note 5, Samsung removed the microSD card slot and this move was heavily criticized by the company's fans. The company decided to bring it back with the Galaxy S7 series and subsequent Note devices. Now the company seems to be playing with the idea again. We know that only a few companies offer the expansion of microSD cards. Samsung is back in line with the trend.

A powerful camera combination

The handset also lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack, but that's no surprise. The smartphone has a triple camera arrangement on the back. We have a main rear view camera with 12 MP with a huge pixel size of 1.8 µm and a dual pixel auto focus. There is an ultra wide camera with an aperture of 1: 2.2 and 1.4 µm pixels. Interestingly, the third sensor is a 64MP 3x zoom camera with 1: 2.0 aperture and 1um pixels. The phone offers 30x hybrid zoom and support for 8K video recording. At the transition to the centered hole, we have a 10 megapixel selfie snapper with dual pixel autofocus, 1: 2.2 aperture and 1.22 μm pixels.

The handset has IP68 certification, which guarantees 1.5 water for up to 30 minutes. It also has dual SIM and supports eSIM. Thanks to a 4,300 mAh battery, the light stays on. The included charger ensures that the battery is empty to 50% in just 30 minutes. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging are also available.

Of course we have an S-Pen with a latency of 26 ms, which is higher than that of the Note 20 Ultra. (The Note 20 Ultra is the real Note 20 for those who are waiting for a major upgrade). This handset is also optimized for use with Microsoft Project xCloud and Xbox Game Pass. The two companies will also work together on Office Apps and Wireless DeX.

Android 10 with One UI 2.x is running on the handset. The 5G will come first in the online event on August 5. It will reach Europe in the colors Mystic Bronze, Mystic Gray and Mystic Green. Unfortunately, there are no pricing details. Hopefully it will cost less than other premium smartphones with better specs.
