OnePlus is currently one of the most reliable companies when it comes to getting software support on their smartphones. The company has a good track record and offers faster updates for its latest smartphones. However, this does not mean that old devices are left behind. Apart from the OnePlus 3 / 3T-Duo 2016, the company has provided an update for the OnePlus 5-Duo from 2017. Now the company is starting to focus on Android 11 and the OxygenOS version based on it. Today Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, went to Twitter to test the upcoming version of Android.
The post reveals a clock with the hour hand at 11. This is clearly a teaser for the planned Android 11 update, which will receive the newer OnePlus phones. Just like OnePlus with OxygenOS 10 last year, we believe that this year's version will follow the Android naming scheme and will be referred to as OxygenOS 11. Aside from the Android 11 teaser, there is some speculation on the Internet.

Always mode to finally hit OnePlus phones
Some users are wondering about that The fact that OnePlus used a watch to tease the upcoming version of Android. Apparently, this is a nod to an upcoming Always On feature. However, this does not mean that this upcoming function will reach older devices. At first, we believe the company will fully prioritize the recently released OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. In the worst case, the company could always make Always On Display exclusively for the upcoming OnePlus 8T series. But there is only a small chance that will happen. This is a feature that OnePlus has long neglected. The same thing happened with wireless charging and water resistance. The situation is different now, isn't it?
We're also waiting to see how quickly the recently released OnePlus Nord will be upgraded to Android 11. It's a 2020 phone and hopefully by 2020 it won't be put aside. We expect all 2020 phones to run Android 11 by the end of this year. The OnePlus 7 and 7T series could be received earlier next year, while the OnePlus 6 and 6T series should receive them in the second quarter of next year.
The OnePlus 8T is already being tested
Since it is the OnePlus 8T series. We received the first indication that the company is already testing the upcoming smartphone. The alleged OnePlus 8T was discovered on GeeBench with Android 11. The handset carries the "Kona" chipset, which stands for the Snapdragon 865 SoC. It is impossible to determine whether this is the vanilla or the plus variant of the chipset. We expect the OnePlus 8T phones to use the Plus variant. The leaked model's RAM capacity is 8 GB of RAM.
