Samsung is preparing to launch a number of new devices next week, August 5. The company's Galaxy Unpacked will bring the Galaxy Note 20 family to light. In addition to new wearables like the Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Buds Live, the company will also introduce a new pair of tablets under the brand name Galaxy Tab S7. Finally, we see the brand new member of the Galaxy Fold family in the form of Galaxy Z Fold 2. Yes, as you can see, the phone will bring a Z. Perhaps Samsung wants to bring it closer to its most successful foldable device, the most up-to-date phone, the Galaxy Z Fold.
We have seen this phone in a few leaks, but now we have the best insight into the new foldable phone courtesy of MySmartPrice. It comes with a few high-resolution renderings that show the foldable phone and its background image. One of the biggest changes to this new Z Fold 2 is that it comes with a hole design. It replaces the notch that took up a good part of the screen in the original fold. According to the pictures, we have a much cleaner design.
In addition to the new cut-out, the new foldable phone also has a larger cover display. So we have a phone that is more useful when it is folded. It's a more versatile phone because you don't have to flip it open every time. Another interesting detail is that the leaked render confirms the handset in the Mystic Bronze color option. This color seems to be Samsung's hero color for this year's Galaxy Unpacked. All other Galaxy devices have a bronze color option.
Galaxy Z Fold 2 specifications
The renderings also show that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 has an array with three cameras. This has become a popular choice among flagship cell phones. Apparently, this camera setup will be a 64-megapixel main shooter, a 12-megapixel sensor likely for ultra-wide shooting, and finally a third 12-megapixel unit. In the hole we will have a single 10 megapixel selfie snapper.
Other rumors say the phone has a 6.23-inch Super AMOLED cover display and a 7.7-inch Super AMOLED foldable field with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The handset also has up to 512 GB of internal memory. It is supported by a 4,356 mAh battery with 15 W wireless charging and 15 W reverse wireless charging. The phone also has 5G connectivity.
We also expect the handset to be really durable. Much more than its predecessor, which has suffered from durability problems in the past.
