Green Bay Packers select Clemson WR Amari Rodgers at No. 85 overall in 2021 draft

The Green Bay Packers traded up to No. 85 overall in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft to take Clemson wide receiver Amari Rodgers.

The cost to move up seven spots was a fourth-round pick.

Rodgers (5-9, 214) is the first pick at receiver made by the Packers in the first three rounds of a draft since 2015 (Ty Montgomery).

A dynamic playmaker at Clemson, Rodgers caught 181 passes for 2,144 yards and 15 touchdowns. He set career-highs for catches (ACC-best 77), receiving yards (1,020), and touchdowns (seven) in 2020.

Rodgers is an ideal fit in Matt LaFleur’s offense as a do-it-all slot weapon that can handle all the gadget touches and create yards after the catch.

The Packers’ first three picks in 2021 are cornerback Eric Stokes, center Josh Myers and Rodgers.
